Join us for a special, one-hour, online portion of Our Female Founders weekend. This is event is free and open to all.
The founding of Alcoholics Anonymous (A.A.) would not have occurred as it did without the Mother's Day 1935 meeting of Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob Smith. What began that day was possible because of the love and service of women in Akron and New York. This session will tell the story of how Henrietta Seiberling, Anne Smith, Lois Wilson and others laid the foundation for the Mother's day meeting and the beginnings of A.A., Al-Anon and the addiction recovery movement.
Gail La Croix, the original archivist for Dr. Bob's Home in Akron, and Joy Jones and Tom Adams, authors of the recently published A Marriage that Changed the World: Lois and Bill Wilson and the Addiction Recovery Movement will share this story and answer questions. Come and learn about the vital role early women leaders played in launching the recovery movement for alcoholics, addicts and their families.
