Healing to Harmony Workshop: Unlocking the power of connection

When you first embarked on your recovery journey, did you envision a life free from chaos and filled with joyful relationships? Many of us believed that sobriety would magically fix everything. Much to your dismay, you found this did not happen, and you blamed them! “They need to change so I’ll feel better!” became your wounded cry.

You grew tired of unresolved arguments with your partners. You found yourself struggling with difficult colleagues and feeling overwhelmed by the weight of unspoken tensions. You’re not alone. I have been there – in sobriety! Many of us have faced moments of frustration and disconnection in our relationships.

But what if you discovered that while you knew how to have relationships, you had never learned how to have healthy relationships?

This 3-day intensive is led by Rena K., speaker, presenter, and author of Healing to Harmony: Solutions for Healthy Relationships in Recovery.

In these transformative workshops, we use the amazing Twelve Traditions to delve deep into the principles of communication and connection. This isn’t just about fixing problems; it’s about learning new techniques that foster successful interactions with everyone you meet.

What you’ll learn:

  • Practical communication skills: Learn how to express your feelings openly without fear of conflict.
  • Active listening skills: Discover how to truly hear others, creating deeper connections.
  • Forgiveness over resentment: Learn how to let go of grudges and embrace healing.
  • Fair fighting: Techniques and skills to effectively manage conflict and its associated feelings.
  • Caretaking vs. caregiving: The difference between the two (hint: one is unhealthy!)
  • Authentic living: Encourage vulnerability as a strength that fosters trust and openness in all your relationships.
  • “Rule 62:” Learn not to take yourself so seriously! We have fun in this learning process!

This workshop offers a safe space to learn, share, and grow alongside others who have faced similar struggles.

This is an invitation to transform your relationships. We can learn to build bridges instead of walls – because we’re all in this together!

About Rena K.

Rena K. has spent almost half a century learning how to be “sober” in the true sense of the word. Early in recovery, she realized she knew how to have relationships – but didn’t know how to have healthy relationships. So, with the guidance of many wise people, she resolutely turned the spotlight on herself to learn the skills and attitudes necessary to enjoy healthy, happy relationships.

This memoir/workbook is not just a collection of stories but a practical guide based on her personal experiences, the wisdom of Sponsors, and the occasional professional. It’s a vulnerable account of how she has learned and applied these tools for almost five decades – in all areas of her life.

Rena currently lives in South Florida and loves her sober life. She is passionate about Alcoholics Anonymous, the privilege of sponsoring, the joy of fellowship, and the excitement of attending A.A. conferences and sharing her experience, strength, and hope at conferences around the world.

When she is at home, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Cole, and her friends both in and out of A.A. And writing!
