Thanks to you, we’ve surpassed our fundraising goal and raised the money needed to complete this important project. Along with financial support, dozens of dedicated volunteers have contributed their time and talents to help us get to this point.
Thus far, we’ve completed the following steps:
The unsafe and uneven old marble patio was removed by volunteers and set aside for rebuilding
A roofing crew replaced shingles lost during winter storms
Painters finished sealing and painting where the new ADA bathrooms are
New footings and foundation were poured under the south wall of the meeting house
A local crew installed rigid foam installation materials under the meeting room floor
The old, rotted sill plate was replaced with treated timber and the exterior of the new foundation wall was clad with white plastic composite board.
During final grading, a swale from the inside corner of the building by the back porch to the southerly yard was created and will hopefully alleviate some leakage into the basement near the chimney.
An excellent effort on the part of all involved, making this phase of the project a great success!
The marble terrace will be rebuilt in early spring. With new plantings and seating areas, visitors will be able to enjoy it starting in summer 2025.
