The Wilson House Raised $50,000 With It’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament
The Wilson House shattered the organization’s all-time, fundraising record on Wednesday, May 22nd during the 5th annual Wilson House Cup held at the Dorset Field Club. The event netted $50,000 in support of its general fund.
“We are so grateful to our sponsors and all the participants who made this a day for our record books,” said Kim Norman, Wilson House Executive Director. “We exist thanks to the generosity of benefactors, small and large, that understand how important it is to sustain the Wilson House as a destination for people in recovery. Our programming as well as the upkeep and repair of this 172 year-old building is costly.”
One hundred golfers enjoyed perfect weather and one of the best golf courses in Vermont. Golfers of all abilities vied for the honor of having their names engraved in the crystal, Wilson House Cup trophy.
This year, the team of Peter Haley, Lloyd Sinnott, Benjamin Ward, Dave Fine carded a 9-under par 61 in the shamble format tournament.
Once again, the tournament sponsor was High Watch Recovery Centers based in Kent, CT. “We are pleased to sponsor The Wilson House’s 5th Annual Golf Tournament,” said Andrew Roberts, the CEO of High Watch Recovery Center. “Our approach to recovery services combines clinical interventions with the proven teachings of the 12-Steps, which closely aligns with the missions of both our organizations."
“High Watch’s work in recovery is unmatched and rooted in the values of the 12-steps which Bill Wilson co-authored. We are honored to have them support our mission and be a partner each year in this event,” Norman explained.
