Welcome, John Thacher

We are thrilled to announce that John Thacher (2nd from the right, front row) has stepped into the role of Board Chair for The Wilson House. This news carries a special kind of meaning for our community: John's great uncle was Ebby Thacher, credited as Bill Wilson's first sponsor and one of the pivotal figures in the earliest days of what would become Alcoholics Anonymous.

To have someone with this direct connection to our history now guiding our future is a wonderful development. This is the continuation of a story about this special place which we are all writing together.

John brings deep alignment with our mission along with genuine wisdom and heart to this work. As Board Chair, he will help oversee the strategic direction of our 38 year old nonprofit as we continue to steward the 174 year old hotel where Bill Wilson was born in 1895.

"I am honored and moved to serve The Wilson House in this new role," John said. "This place holds a story that shaped my own family, and I don't take lightly what it means to help carry that story forward. I'm excited for what's ahead, grateful for the trust of this board and this community, and ready to be of service in whatever way is needed."
